Cerasuolo d'Abruzzo was established as a separate DOC from Montepulciano d'Abruzzo in 2010. The principal red grape variety is Montepulciano, made in the Rosato style. Montepulciano d'Abruzzo Cerasuolo is a fun, fresh, lighter tasting red that is best consumed chilled and young. The bouquet gives off fruity, vinous notes, with hints of wood. A harmonious palate that would pair with fish or cheese.
