Hence the name, this is a multiregional blend of Tempranillo, Cabernet Sauvignon, Montepulciano and Shiraz that seems to have a bit of everything: dried savory spices, earthy funk, ripe berries and plums, licorice, roasted beet and violet. The nose is intriguing, but the palate doesn't seem to knit it all together. The fruit feels flat and a bit sweet, while the tannins are big and chewy, and the alcohol on the warm side. Perhaps the label—a donkey pulling a cart piled so high it's tipped over—is apt for this wine, which feels like it's had so much thrown at it, it's toppled over.
