STREGA LIQUORE

This bright yellow liquor named Liquore Strega, or "Witch" as it is known in Italian, dates back to 1860 where it was produced and distilled by the S.A. Distilleria Liquore Strega in Benevento, Campania, Italy. This saffron and herb concoction is sweet, and bold. It was called "Witch" based on legends of witchcraft at Benevento dating back to the time of the Lombard invasions of 564. Liquore Strega has been immortalised in Italian Cinema, present as a prop and in the dialogue. It is a classic Italian aperitivo. This is a strong but flavorful drink, enjoyed on the rocks, in a shot glass, or mixed.
